And welcome to the ghost social podcastwith Brian Out Ghos social is a relaxed and unedited conversation withmarketing expert, Brian Haunt Brians, a founder ghost social experts and theauthor of multiple books, his most recent being the facebook formula whichyou can purchase on Amazon for stay round at the end of the day, showingI'll tell you how to get a copy melt right to your Bo. I mice on your hostfor the next few minutes as we chat online marketing next perk, businessowner and author lying on well good afternoon, Brian Han. How areyou today, sir? I am absolutely magnificent. Michael, it's a beautifulafternoon. I hear the lawn more running outside, so someone else is boy mayyard it's great. I love the saying you're not doing it, I'm not doing it. That is funny yeah. I did I do on my M. I have a verysmall yard, so I was Monin the other day. I use them one more. I bought formy sons when they had a long money, bus, it's pretty old and it right. When Ifinished, I pulled it backwards in the...

...front wheel. Assembly just came off well, so I'm not mowing my yard rightnow either right we're in reparabit. That's not whatwe're talking about. Oh we're talking today about- and this is really probecause I just talked to a prospect that s is this question about openingup new markets so go sick is is in the northeast and he's. I main want toexpand some other states, because I can do what I do in other states. I surehow to do it or something I want to talk today about how do you enter a newmarket and do it quickly and hopefully profitably you have some insight there.I do. I do and the reason I brought that up as I'm looking at expoexpanding into a different. It's, not any geographic area, but it's into adifferent market area than what I'm that I've been working with. So NewPeople and they're, not they don't know me they don't. They have no idea who Iam so I'll, send it in my podcast. But besides that the...

...so I thought well, if I'm doing this, other people are probably doing this. So that's so. I wrote an article aboutit and doing a podcast about it. The just one quick warning with that is thechallenges are while it is fast there's way to do it faster and speed things up.It still takes more time to go, find new people than it does to sell more toexisting people yeah. So as long as you're aware of that and you're readyto jump in with that, that's great so, but that's a great word of wisdom rightthere from years of experience right yeah, I was all excited when I startthink talking about this. I'm in partner- and I are do going into thisand we're all excited, and we start looking at them out of work and what wehave to do because and we can take stuff that we've got and adapted thatwe still got to take it, an adapt that we're now we've got it all ready to go so I meanthere is. There is some more work with this, so but that's okay, we're excitedabout it, it's fun! So what else do you have to do? I mean so that's right, agood gal! You in the time on your hand, that's right.

So what what we're going to start outwith is the the very first thing that you need is you need some kind of ace?You know you need some face, some authority, some celebrity and someexpertise learnt that several years ago, from a marketing, an old, an old oldmark way older than me marketing guy- and it's a very true, it's a truth. It's been true forever and ever people buy from people, they know like andtrust. They know they let they love to buy from celebrities. So how do you? How do you increase your authority orcelebrity your expertise, and there are many ways to do this. You can do ityourself by the way I take it takes it the longer to do it yourself, but youcan do it yourself. You know you can have a podcast. You can publish a book. You can have a bog with four hundred a d four hundred plus articles on it. So I mean there's lots of you. Can thatthat 's the? Do It yourself way todo it to borrow some of that ace? As you can get exposure in industrymagazines, you know if you can get a...

...chance to put an orpit industrymagazine in the industry that you're going into or the geographic area thatyou're going into is all possible. If you can work with an organization, that'salready trusted or an organization or a person, that's really trusted in yournew market and you can connect yourself to them. Theirauthority celebrity a expertise. Moves over to you kind of that halo effectkind of the halo effect. Yes, yes, so so those are some ways to generate thatace and with the you know, the other. The fastest way is with the Industrymagazine or the or the person that's trusted by yourmarket already yeah. Now, if you have a book a podcast, you know all the otherstuff behind that it all helps you know yeah and then all it's, why we seewebsites with people next to a Tony Robins, or you know somebody like that. It's that that effect to say, Hey, I'm...

...with him. Therefore, I'm I'm morecredible than somebody else. That's part of building that credibility and alot of times it is manufactured at the busy breaking in nothing, and thatdoesn't mean that you don't have it you're, just not recognized for it type, correct and there's ways that you can help people that in a differentindustry that they may have influence in another industry. So the now I'd like to have, if Tony wants togive me a call, I'd, be happy to do a free consult with him by marketing butO, I think, he's out Mona Jard right now. Brian is okay. Okay, but but no you can a lot of times you!You might be able to help that person and that's how they might have gottento know you. They found you in one place, you're helping them there andthey have credibility in your new markets. I'm just saying a lot of times. It all is very beneficial for everybody. It's not an though it's manufactured, you are helping them just an area that they're not as expertise as you are soanyway, you can took up with any of...

...that is all a good start for what youwant to do. Just that's just, but the next step in this whole process, then, is that you need to give them something you need to give them somekind of information, some kind of help, some kind of something without reallyasking for anything up front. You got to do and there's ways you can do it.So, if you're, if you, if you go to a live, a man, I mean that's a greatthing to go, t be able t o a live, even if you can speak an event by the way. That's another way, speaking industry, a man would be another great way to doit, but and live events are trying to come back. I'm some I've been hereyou're doing very successful. Some AV been e n, it all depends on theindustry they're in and that, but but any way you can do that live is apossibility, but if you don't want to wait for thatevent, so you say there is an event. That's three months from now, and youdon't want to wait that three months I still do the event, but you can startpriming everything ready by going into so an old school way of doing. This isfind facebook groups find linked in groups where your ideal prospect is bythe way, not where other people that...

...are in your industry or your idealprospect is go in and help people a lot of times in those groups. People areasking questions. How do I do this? What have you been finding here? Ananswer as many of them as you can be active in those groups, yeah and thenyou're gonna, be part because that's that's an investment of time. If you doit's a week, doing that maybe a couple times a couple times a week. Fifteenminutes here and there popping in just answering a question to popinot. That'stre advertising, really it is that ever taking a marketing, we go back andlisten to. The last show we'll talk about that. So then yeah to an to thesigh which one that it really isn't that right and by the Fast Fido has youbook mark that group. I mean you literally Book Mark That Group. You sayfacebook groups I want to in the interact, and you have to go tofacebook and search for the group find the group you want to do book mark thatSucker and then you can just click on the book mark and the facebook opens upand that pay that way you don't get distracted by all your other stuff. That would do all everything goingthrough your new speed, finding out what Michael's been doing or what mydaughter has been doing, or whatever whoever's been doing. So I don't noneof that's there. You just go straight...

...to the group and you can interact andyou can wherever your people are. So I mean, if they're in facebook groupsgreat end by the way there are facebook groups about everything you can imagine, but there's also linked in groups not as good of interaction in the past.I haven't tried him actively recently, but but they're there there's a lot offaces where they hang out a heck if they hang out on a on blogs or inmeeting rooms, are a forum. If you join the forum, start answering people'squestions, and all of that will that will lead you to becoming more of anexpert and, however, you can help them and then, after a little bit of helping, you can start when they, when they ask something they're going to trust you.So when you, when they say hey, I can help you, but we need to talk in person.I can't answer that they hear they'll sort of be more willing to set up atime and by the way, in the groups, if you're in there contributing andhelping people, and not just looking for clients, you're they're, going towelcome you, the group bad men's love it when you're in there yeah helpingout people so by the way another place...

...at that people don't think about a lotof times is youtube bother, youtube videos if your audience is watchingthem the be comments and they by people asking questions and a lot of times, people that have. If you have a video that is really paper you have. You knowa hundred two hundred five hundred comments on it. You can't keep ups ifyou're willing to go in and answer to those questions, the people that ownthe bigos actually thank you. You know that there Teresa had direct or petitoryears. I mean that would be a little bit part of a challenge- air bit, YeahYeah, so but we're looking at. How can youhelp the people and then you're, starting to figure out how to build upyour email? That summer, then we're starting to build into into how tomarket, which is which is all back to what we've talked about so that, but those are some morganicways by the way. The next thing they can do is actually used. So once youknow that you've got a message that kind of works you want to test a littlebit as you can go and run paid facebook, ats. Okay, so you develop an audienceon on facebook through the facebook ads manager. By the way we're talking herenow we're not talking about organically, and then you create a small offer. Youdo a little video. They can be teaching...

...something it could be a a video. Whatyou're doing is you're offering them something at the end they can get onyour email list and if you know you get a thousand people to watch and thennobody APPs in you have the wrong audience of the wrong offer. So thenyou go back and try it again. That doesn't happen often, and if you'vedone your research, it almost never happens. It's when you don't do yourresearch and you're just guessing ahead of time that you run into those issuesyeah! Oh, that's, interesting, yeah, there's so many ways that it goesback to it when you walk into a new audience, which is really what you'retalking about. How do they think about you? Yes, and if you got that authority, credit legers from whatever platform right and read the more platforms thatyou have the better I we think of the Olympics right. They have like when youwin. The metals have got a little platform for rons, a bigger one forsiren, a big one for God. Think about that in your marketing right I did it.I did an article here. I spoke here and now I've got a book here or whatever itis right.

People see you they're, like oh well,he's obviously the extra because he wrote the book on it. He's got all thepental he's got a yes he's got a he's, a four hundred arles on this right, don't in as they're out doing base book. They see your group because you lead agroup on facebook and about this opic, it's like pretty everywhere they goyou're the guy you. That is how you manufactory that credibility, so thatwhen you walk into that new audience, they like well. This is the guy yesyeah and it's not rocket tines Nope, then, if it's and if it just takes alittle bit of planning a little bit of time yeah I mean it does not a lot oftime, but it's going to take some time, you're not going to walk in unless you can happen to stand next toTony and talk right after him and he hold hardly at the end. He says man youdid buy this now, then you can walk in and probably do that, but there's veryfew in the world. I've actually, no Tony! Well, if he's going to do allthat, for you s right, that's right or someone of that equivalent, so thatenquetes right. But if you serve somebody, so if you're going into a new, let's ten your gun into the rarb world,...

...because you drive or or you have an arbright- let's say it wanted to break into that market, and you startedbuilding relationships with the key guy who heads up the Association of R Vdealers right you're serving him, and he brings you to the conference and youspeak, and this guy comes out says: I've been working with Bryan for sevenyears. He's bought three of our res And oh, by the way he's like the bestfacebook marketing guy on earth. I think you should at least talk to him.No, not right YEP. That does recurvis. Yes, yes, very much! So so, and how doyou take your existing network and and if you who do you know that's in that new market that you want to go to that, can make some those introductions for you absolutely so so as to as to matterputting together plan and just working at and marketing, in this case, you're looking at how tomarket to even get started with the group which is going to that once youstart getting traction, it goes much faster and and it's if there's a formalback out there about time versus money right. So if you have lots and lots ofmoney, you can blast your way into a...

...new market like getting a. But if youdon't have all that it's going to take some time, and so you have that plan togo okay. This month or this quarter we're working on this right and- and Iwas breaking into the attorney market years ago and the person said okay, would you like to write an article for our monthly magazine, well, yeah so or about that? Yes, itwas. It was like a year and a half or so before. The next opportunity evercame to go speak at their conference at not on keynote as a little side thingright right and over the years. I've becomekind of a book guy for that organization. It. But it's taken timeand that's: Okay, Yeah Yep some! Sometimes it takes time, for he ismoney. Sometimes it takes both. But I'm saying this is what we said. If you'regoing to go to a new market, just know it's going to take a little bit moretime, almost to matter how much money you got, it's still going to take alittle bit more time, to put it all together. So absolutely! Well, that'sgood! That's how you break into a new...
